sweet. how exciting.
ANYWAY-- story of the week. I got in an argument with my instructor the other day. Actually, I honestly feel stupid calling it an argument (I know this sounds cocky, but read on) I was right, and she was argueing with the truth. Heres the details
(This is a geography class too-- who woulda thunk you could get in an argument in a geography class.)Basically, we're talking about "Oceania"-- Polynesian islands, basically.
Her "point" was that, essentially, you can't grow anything on Pacific islands. Her exact words were "you'd be lucky to get some papaya, but otherwise you're just eating bread fruit and fish".
WHAT??? Hellooooo-- these islands are formed of volcanic soil. Which, in all likely hood, is the most productive soil on the planet.
So no big deal, really, who cares. I made my point, tuned her out while she restated her case, mostly because she was mean mugging me the whole time, and went on with class.
TODAY, she EMAILS me, to CONTINUE arguing!!! WITH A STUDENT! Really?
